DUNURE COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 20 September 2011 IN KENNEDY HALL, DUNURE, AT 7.30PM SEDERUNT: Mr Phil Findlay(Chair); Mr Roy Sorie (Treasurer) Mrs Jean McGinn, (Secretary); Mr A Guthrie; Mr Adam Montgomerie;, Mrs Dorothy Ward. IN ATTENDANCE: Mrs Thea Petticrew; Councillor Mairi Low; Councillor Sandra Goldie; P C Kevin Kirk; P C Kate Malloch 1. APOLOGIES: Mr Rod Kruse 2. Adoption of minutes for meeting of Tuesday 16 August 2011. Proposed Mr A Guthrie, Seconded M. r Adam Montgomerie 3. POLICE REPORT: There have been no incidents other than a query from the public about campers who, when the police came to look for them they had moved on. Apparently it is not llegal to camp in an open space for up to three days (or nights). 4. COUNCILLOR’S REPORT: Nothing much to report at this stage. Cuts do not appear to be as bad as anticipated. Mr Storie mentioned more problems with holes in the road (A719) but we are aware this is ongoing. 30mph road sign had been turned round – Mr Findlay will see if he can reposition this. 5. LINK OFFICER’S REPORT: Mrs Petticrew has nothing to report other than it is a struggle to keep things going in her department through reduced resources. MATTERS ARISING: Concern has been raised over the overgrown state of some gardens in the area. Mrs Petticrew confirmed if this property not council owned nothing much can be done except to contact owner and mention this problem. 7. FINANCIAL REPORT: Closing balance at 20 September which includes Administration Grant of £600 amounts to £619.28 New Hall Account stands at £170.23 from which account £25 has been taken for reimbursement of Drawrite Vouchers. 9 OPEN FORUM: There were no members of the public present. 10 CORRESPONDENCE: Ÿ Email from School - anything we would like to put into their next community newsletter? Ÿ Emails re worry about Ayr A & E and confirmation nothing will change in the meantime. Ÿ Letter from South Ayrshire Council - Erection of Wind farm - application withdrawn. Ÿ South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership - Carrick Community Engagement events. Ÿ “ “ “ “ Community Conference 28 October. Planning: Application for formation of service yard & additional car parking - Land at Greenan. Withdrawn - Erection of three retail units at Greenan - Mactaggert & Mickel. “ “ Hazardous substances application for storage of LPG - Craig Tara Permitted: Erection of Agricultural shed at Perryston Farm. 11. ANY OTHER BUSINESS: · An open letter was received from Mr Hobson Rankin asking for a discussion on Dunure’s maritime and heritage and Dunure Youth. He is asking why there are no rowing or sailing activities in Dunure. This was discussed and we will write to Mr Rankin asking if he has been in discussion with Harbour Association and also whether there are any youngsters who are pupils of Carrick Academy already involved or showing interest in this. The Health & Safety Aspect would also have to be discussed with Harbour. · Mr Guthrie has received a letter from Brodies re the Harbour Foundation. Further applications for this Bursary should be forwarded direct to Edinburgh. Mr Guthrie will put a copy of this letter on the Notice Board. · Mrs Ward advises that the Time Capsule which has to be inserted into the wall at the harbour must be in place before the end of the year. At the moment they are considering what items should be placed in this. · Lighthouse – Mr Storie is hoping to have a meeting with Mr Cameron Kerr ion the near future. There being no other business, the meeting closed at 8.15pm and the next meeting will be held on Tuesday 18 October 2011.
